Tuesday January 6, 2009 THE 35th ANNIVERSARY GRENADA INDEPENDENCE CALYPSO COMPETITION The Grenada Cultural Foundation would like to remind all Artistes that the deadline for the submission of registration forms and CDs for the 2009 Independence Calypso Competition is Friday January 16th, 4pm. Completed forms and CDs should be dropped off at the Office the Grenada Cultural Foundation, Suite 134, Grenada National Stadium. Registration forms are available at: • Grencoda’s Office in St. John • From The Chairperson of the St. Patrick Carnival Development Committee – Miss Judy-Ann Auld • At the Office of the St. Andrew Carnival Development Committee • In St. David from Teacher Eddie • In Carriacou from Duane Williams The preliminary stage of the competition will be judged on Saturday January 17th from which eighteen (18) calypsonians will be selected to compete in the semifinals to take place on Saturday January 24th at the La Sagesse Playing Field in St. David. Nine (9) Calypsonians will be selected to compete in the finals against the reigning Independence Monarch, Young Sound. The Finals will take place on January 31st at the Fond Recreation Ground in St Patrick. Both shows will start at 8pm. Admission to the Semifinals will be $10 and the Finals $20.
